More and more innovation requires going into darker, more inappropriate, less ethical territory. Here’s how to respond.
“…I’ve been studying how we’re adapting to work involving intelligent machines… many other studies show that more and more of our innovation and adaptation are headed into darker, more inappropriate, less ethical territory…. there’s a certain point at which surveillance, analysis, prediction, and control stops yielding returns: not because the data or predictions are wrong, but because you are destroying the underobserved spaces where people feel free to experiment, fail, and think through a problem.”
